The BYSA Traveling program is designed for players that are ready to take soccer to the next level of competition. We recommend that players participate in our Rec program for 1-2 years before joining Traveling league. Our aim for the Traveling program is to provide players with a skill growth, healthy competition, sportsmanship, and fun!
SPRING SEASON FORMAT
Our spring season format is a combination of League and Tournament. The spring season typically runs from mid April (weather permitting) to late June. We play in the Southern Minnesota Soccer League, and our league games are scheduled against other teams in the league.
Spring league play:
- Teams typically play ten games
- Half of our games will be at home and the other half will be away
- Games are held on evenings on weekdays and on weekends. Team brackets are assigned a primary day on which most of their games will be played
- Away games will be located across southern Minnesota, generally south of the Twin Cities, east to La Crescent, and west to Mankato
Spring tournaments:
- All traveling teams will participate in two tournaments determined by BYSA. We make every attempt to have all of our teams attend the same two tournaments during the season, as it simplifies schedules for families with multiple traveling players.
- Teams U13 and older have the option to pick a third tournament of their choosing.
Our fall season format is League Only. The fall season typically runs from late August through mid October. We play in the Southern Minnesota Soccer League, and our games are scheduled against other teams in the league.
Fall league play:
- Teams typically play six games
- Half of our games will be at home and the other half will be away
- Most games are held on weekends, but occasionally a game may be held in the evening on a weekday
- Away games will be located across southern Minnesota, generally south of the Twin Cities, east to La Crescent, and west to Mankato
