Board of Directors

The BYSA Board meets on second Wednesday of every month starting at 6:00 PM. Please check the calendar for specific date, time, and location information. Individuals interested in addressing the board should contact the president prior to the meeting to be placed on the agenda.

We are always looking for people interested in serving on the board. Terms are generally three years. Some soccer knowledge is helpful, but not required for most board positions. Outside of monthly board meetings, most positions require a few hours per week. Some positions require substantially more time than that. The board accepts applications on an ongoing basis. Feel free to contact any of the current board members for info about serving on the board. Submit an application if you are interested in serving as a BYSA board member.

Compliance Director

  • Maintain awareness of all requirements and inform the board of any changes. 

  • Develop a communication plan that clearly identifies the compliance program requirements and timeline for completion, emphasizing completion must occur prior to any player interaction.

  • Regularly communicate with Recreation and Traveling program directors to ensure non-compliant adults remain separated from player activities until fully compliant.

  • Establish a tracking program that accurately reflects the status and expiration date of individuals who have completed certifications.

  • Collaborate with Registrar for entry of all data into MYSA tracking system.

Field and Equipment Director

  • Field Maintenance & Preparation: Ensure all fields are properly lined, goals are secured, and playing surfaces are safe before games and practices. Coordinate with the city or field owners for necessary repairs and upkeep.

  • Equipment Inventory & Distribution: Manage all soccer equipment, including balls, cones, nets, corner flags, and first aid kits. Distribute gear to coaches at the start of the season and collect it at the end.

  • Scheduling & Coordination: Work with the league and referees to ensure fields are available and properly set up for games, tournaments, and training sessions. Coordinate field closures due to weather or maintenance.

  • Purchasing & Budgeting: Assess equipment needs, obtain quotes, and purchase necessary items within the allocated budget. Track expenditures and recommend future investments in equipment and field improvements.

  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all equipment meets safety standards, goals are anchored, and fields comply with league regulations. Address any hazardous conditions and communicate with the board about necessary fixes.
